Liverpool Tanpa Gerrard Hadapi Lyon

Manajer Liverpool Rafael Benitez menyatakan kapten Steven Gerrard belum fit untuk menghadapi tuan rumah Lyon di pertandingan Liga Champions, Rabu (4/11). Absennya Gerrard tentu menjadi pukulan bagi Liverpool yang butuh kemenangan agar peluang lolos ke babak berikutnya tetap terbuka.


"Gerrard tidak ikut ke Lyon. Ia tak punya harapan untuk tampil. Kondisinya memang sudah membaik, namun kami masih harus menunggu," kata Benitez.

"Dia masih harus mendapatkan suntikan. Jadi, kami harus menunggu dua atau tiga hari bagaimana reaksinya," lanjutnya.

Demikian pula Martin Skrtel tidak bisa tampil karena cedera otot. Meski tidak terlalu serius, namun cedera itu cukup mengganggunya.

Selain itu, Albert Riera dan Martin Kelly juga absen karena masih cedera. Sebaliknya, gelandang Alberto Aquilani dan David Ngog bisa tampil.

"Kondisi [Daniel] Agger sudah membaik. Ia memang ada masalah dengan punggungnya tapi sudah membaik. Kami masih menunggu bagaimana reaksinya," ujar Benitez.

"Fabio [Aurelio] sudah membaik setelah ada masalah di bagian betis. Sementara [Glen] Johnson masih menjalani perawatan. Meski demikian, ia tetap diikutkan ke Lyon," katanya lagi.

Fairclough: Jangan Lepas Rafa!

Buruknya penampilan Liverpool awal musim ini menjadi beban Rafael Benitez. Pelatih asal Spanyol ini dikabarkan akan diganti di tengah jalan karena tak membawa perubahan bagi The Reds.
